MLS – football in USA There happens a lot in American football. Looking through statistics of seasons 2004 – 2005 and a fixtures for year 2006 you may start thinking about at least two issues. First one is the fact that a team, which won a league in 2005 (during regular season) - San Jose Earthquakes – is absent during matches in a current season. A short Internet investigation has shown, that a sponsor and club management suspended its activity under the old name and moved team to other city – Huston. You may notice that in current matches there is a team called Dynamo Huston – a team undoubtedly form Huston. I do not know with absolute certainty that it is the same team and people who belonged to the team in San Jose. Exact declaration, my Dear Progression User, you may find on www.sjearthquakes.com. It reveals that the sponsor was going to restore the team under an old name in 2007. Second issue is the team MetroStars, which also disappeared from the fixtures. An attempt to visit former club website www.metrostars.com results in moving to redbull.newyork.mlsnet.com/MLS/rbn/index.jsp which belongs to Red Bulls New York team. Here whole situation becomes clear, the team’s name includes sponsor’s name. You should be aware of these two issues during choosing teams for your progression. However, it would be possible to change their names during all seasons for current names but it would be a history distortion.
